Yuen— Liaoning’s Dandong Battleship Underwater Qing Dynasty Shipwreck Artifacts
Exhibition was officially opened at Liaoning Provincial Museum
From 2014 to 2016, National Administration of Cultural
Heritage Underwater Cultural Heritage Protection Center, jointly with Liaoning
Provincial Institute of
Cultural Relics and Archaeology, conducted the archaeological
survey on Dandong Battleship Shipwrecks of Qing Dynasty (Chinese Cruiser Chih
Yuen) and has made some progress after three years of hard work. This archaeological survey has provided precious archaeological materials
for the study of modern Chinese history, Sino-Japanese Naval War and the history
of world naval vessel technology, and the achievement of underwater
archeological survey was named one of the top ten archaeological discoveries of
China in 2015.
