As Dog Year is approaching, best wishes are given to you. Under the guidance and support of State Administration of Cultural Heritage, China Heritage Newspaper and over 20 famous museums such as Liaoning Provincial Museum jointly plan to hold the Blessing Dogs Welcome Spring – Chinese Zodiac Relics Photo Exhibition at New Spring of Dog Year. The Exhibition will be opened on the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month at Liaoning Provincial Museum.
As an important member of Chinese Zodiac Animal Signs, dog is the best partner of human beings and has taken on many unique roles in the life of human beings. Along with dog breeding and use, many cultural phenomena related to dogs have emerged. As a result, dog is no longer an ordinary natural species, but has been endowed with a long history of humanistic temperament and has had rich and colorful a variety of cultural connotations.
The exhibition featured more than 400 dog-themed cultural relics and folk pictures. Among them, a total of 47 pieces/sets of cultural relic photos are from Liaoning Provincial Museum. This exhibition will describe the history line of dog culture from the perspectives including the domestication of dog, the life of dog and human being, the humanity and godship of dog, as well as artistic features dog-themed cultural relics, etc.
